If you read the headlines in magazines and books these days, you will notice a trend towards hyping certain foods as flat belly foods. The plan is based on Mediterranean-like eating with a focus on monounsaturated fats found in foods like olives, nuts, flax, avocados and sunflower and olive oils. These foods supposedly target the fat around your belly as well as staving off hunger so you don’t overeat at the truth about six pack abs your next meal or raid the pantry before your next meal. The plan also focuses on eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein (red meat should only be consumed about once a month). Everyone wants to have a flat belly and get those well-defined six pack abs, but the truth about six pack abs is that it’s not just the foods that you eat—you still need to add a decent amount of exercise each day.
